ESPN 2 is a South American subscription television channel of American origin that broadcasts sports content, focused on soccer, tennis, rugby, among others. Its main studios are located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It was launched in 2002, under the name ESPN+ and began broadcasting in Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, as the second channel of the ESPN network in those countries. In addition, it broadcasts programs about the championships of various sports in Argentina.
In July 2008, ESPN+ Andino was launched, a pan-regional channel signal for Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, with the same base as the original Argentine signal, but additionally with events such as Major League Soccer and MLB baseball. It had original production programming, such as Balón separado and Corazón andino (hosted by Quique Wolff), as well as its own version of the SportsCenter newscast, hosted by Colombian presenters.
On November 21, 2013, the sub-signal that retransmitted ESPN 2 Norte for Venezuela began to retransmit ESPN+ Andino with commercials for that country.
